Dr Richard Hart attended the 2017 meeting for the British Oculoplastic Surgery Society and the Royal Society of Medicine held in London in June of this year.
The meeting brought together the knowledge, expertise and passion of many specialists from around the world.
The speakers covered a range of topics including new medical therapy for patients with thyroid eye disease, updates from leading experts on eyelid surgery techniques and a better understanding of the link between ptosis and amblyopia.
Dr Hart presented the results of research carried out at the University of Auckland looking at the mechanical compliance of orbital soft tissues in health and disease.
Dr Hart found the meeting to be valuable both in terms of knowledge gained and making connections with colleagues both new and old.
