Dr Sonya Bennett attended the 7th World Glaucoma Congress in Helsinki, Finland at the end of June. The meeting was attended by over 3,000 registrants from around the world.
The lectures were stimulating and there was a lot of new material presented on the latest surgical techniques in glaucoma, MIGS (micro-incisional glaucoma surgery). Dr Bennett participated in learning some of these new techniques during a wetlab training session.
She is looking forward to incorporating these new techniques for treating glaucoma into her repertoire. She met up with colleagues from Australia and the UK which was a valuable time for exchanging ideas. She also really enjoyed the Finnish culture – food, architecture and saunas!
